Hit or Miss? Cutisonic Review.

20160903_220342The Cutisonic sonic facial cleanser and makeup applicator claims to be a facial cleanser and makeup applicator in one. I was super excited to try this out as I have been looking into getting a sonic cleanser recently to get a deeper cleanse on my skin so I was really excited to try this out when I received* this.

The Cutisonic comes with a makeup sponge for the device, the silicone brush top and a charging cable. The device itself is super compact and waterproof so safe to use in the shower!

The Cutisonic has silicone bristles which is a makes the product different to any other sonic brushes on the market. Due to this the brush is softer on the skin and not as harsh and doesn’t over exfoliate the skin, while still achieving a deep cleanse. I have been using this as a second cleanser after removing my makeup with either micellar water or a makeup wipe. It truly horrifies me how much makeup was on the Cutisonic after using it as I thought all my makeup was off but I was clearly mistaken! My skin feels so clean and fresh after using this, the first time I used it I did feel like it dried out my skin a little but I just made sure I applied moisturiser and after a few more uses I didn’t have the same dry feeling so was just my skin getting used to such a deep cleanse! I have never used any other sonic cleanser so I can’t say how it compares to any others on the market but it does make my skin feel very soft and squeaky clean! I use 1 pump of Clinique liquid facial soap on the cleanser and this is enough to cover my full face.

The Cutisonic works by using vibrations (22,000 per minute) this works to break up and pull out all the dirt in your pores. I have noticed a huge difference in my skin since I started using this about 2 weeks ago, my skin has cleared up dramatically and I have noticed most of my pesky blackheads and whiteheads have disappeared!

One major thing that makes this product different to any other on the market as you can also use this as a makeup applicator, in the box you also receive a sponge that can be used in place of the silicone bristles. This really works the foundation into the skin and makes your skin look very natural. I do personally prefer more full coverage but this is perfect for those days when you are going for a more natural look. I also found that making the sponge damp helped me get a slightly fuller coverage. When applying makeup I use the Cutisonic on the low setting and for cleansing I use it on the high setting.

The Cutisonic retails for £59.99 on Amazon but is on offer for the month of September for £49.99.

**Update the replacement sponges and silicon pads are now available from Amazon for £8.99.

*Disclaimer – I was given this product a couple of weeks ago to review, before I start this post I want all my readers to know my review will be 100% honest even if I didn’t pay for the product and that goes for if anything similar happens in the future with any other products. I will only ever give you my honest opinion on any products because I want this blog to be helpful for anyone thinking about buying any of the products I feature.
